Wayne Williams and Catherine Miller are agents of the American President.
Williams is employed by the Secret Service, Miller by the CIA.
As will be explained to the Chief Executive, "after 9/11, the Secret Service wanted a covert renaissance man to counter threats". They found him in Williams, "a recruit who had gone through land, sea and air training in a year, then went through the Special Forces two-year training program in...considerably less time. He even spent some time here in the White House on guard duty". Then a situation arose which made him less than desirable (sounds bad for him but was really due to his bosses) and he was made to go away - as in a backwater posting far from the spotlight. [Note: to learn more about this, check out the Pius Trilogy described in the page about .]
Williams stands 5'10" with goldfish blond hair and marble blue eyes. When we meet him he is working in the swamps of Mississippi taking down good but stupid counterfeiters but the interesting aspect to that was in the heat and the muck and all, Williams was dressed immaculately in a suit and tie and looked more like he belonged in an office building behind a desk instead of in a bayou.
Miller is not just an operative for Langley, she is an assassin. When someone needs eliminating, in the opinion of the seventh floor, she is the one most often given the call and her track record is both impressive and frightening. She can dispatch her targets in a wide range of methods but when we meet her, the intended was removed by way of a fingernail, albeit one "made out of real, high end carbon fiber, and filed them to a razor-sharp edge".
Miller is a very attractive woman with amber eyes and a skin tone the color of light cappuccino; "just tan enough to look exotic, but light enough to veil the Farsi ancestry of her mother."
When the President is handed a problem requiring special care, he looked for a couple of people capable of pulling it off. The two that he chose were Williams and Miller. It is a shame that one of the requirements wasn't that they would get along.
