Bill Blake is an agent with D19.
Technically he is an officer, not an agent, because D19 is not an actual intelligence organization but "was a small, unofficial cadre within the SAS Regiment, staffed by special operatives who usually ended up working alongside the British Secret Intelligence Service". Blake, who has risen to the rank of Colonel in the Service which shows us he is a very experienced warrior, informs us at the very beginning of the first recorded adventure that "only a handful of men were ever in D19 and my immediate sub-division was even smaller".
Blake is telling us that right after an incredible opening statement where he relates, "They murdered me at midnight". Luckily he immediately amended that startling comment with "Or, at least they tried to". Taking on "my own men's betrayal of me was something I could never forgive, but revenge came later" let's us know there is a good deal of activity coming our way.
One particularly chilling statement made during the confrontation just mentioned in which some of Blake's men, following orders given them from very high up comes when Blake, not understanding yet the extent of the betrayal, tells the subordinate about to pull the trigger on him the standard 'you won't get away with it' only be to assured that those higher-ups had "probably already written your obituary".
So, the question that Blake will be concerned with becomes two-fold: who and why. And he will make it his top priority to get answers to both parts and it will be a shame what happens to those trying to get in his way.
Good Lines:
- Said by Blake to a would-be mugger who is miffed Blake fought back and promising that Blake had made a big mistake, "I rarely make mistakes, especially the big ones".
