ABOUT THE SERIES

Puntella Primm is an agent with B.U.S.T.

What exactly that acronym stands for, I have no clue. Mind you, considering the images we have of each of the over half-dozen adventures Primm takes part in, I would have an excellent idea what the name indicated if it had not been an acronym. Since the only time I have seen the department mentioned, it has those dots separating the letters, it is obviously meaning something. Considering the nature of these adventures, though, who knows! She is dubbed in the first mission as "America's Super-Sexual Secret Agent!"

I state for the record that I know next to nothing about Primm or her organization or anything else other than the scant intel we can gleam from those covers. What you will read next is surmises from studying those covers.

Primm is, according to the title of the magazine containing her adventures, 'the Sexy Superspy' and her ubiquitous outfit would definitely point to the 'sex' aspect; she is always seen five of the seven times wearing a very skimpy black-and-red stripped bra as her only apparel above the waist. Below the waist she sports what looks like form-fitting yoga pants though she does seem to have continuing trouble keeping them from falling off her backside. A couple of times she is seen actually holding or pulling them up and other times she just lives with it. Her ensemble is completed by a pair of white shin-high spiked boots and occasionally a purple cape.

Primm is extremely voluptuous. She is a full-figured woman with a sizeable, albeit alluring derriere and a bosom that is - well - very large! She has long, gorgeous black hair with silver highlights. There is no doubt, based on the reaction of many of the men sharing the covers, quite beautiful and captivating.

The very capable Puntella Primm deals with an interesting assortment of opponents in the short time we spend with her. A gang of something is her opposition in the first adventure, a would-be world conquering dictator in another, mermaid terrorists in yet another, and even a visit from some bad-niks from the Martian Air Force! She is able to somehow take them on and vanquish them all with her charm, determination, and occasionally a pretty nasty looking ray handgun.

Likely playing a role in at least some of the missions - though what and how important is unknown - is a mystery man in the background dressed with a superhero-style costume complete with black mask. I have no clue!

Apple Press released several different titles. Those about Puntella Primm, the Sexy Superspay, were under the imprint of Forbidden Fruit. The company, according to Comicsinfo.dk, was "founded in 1986 by Michael Catron. Stopped in 1994." It "mainly published adult series in a variety of themes such as horror, sex, and war. One other source said the company was based in Minneapolis.

Apple Press released quite a few titles during its brief lifespan, almost all of them firmly in the erotic category. Beyond that wide grouping, though, there was a nice variety of genres. I was especially interested in the several imprints dealing with Dracula. I am not that eager to read any about Puntella Primm, though, except to learn about her and find out what the B.U.S.T. stands for.

Published in The Sexy Superspy #1, Nov. 1990.
Plot unknown but we do see on the cover Puntella Primm tidying up herself while standing on the bodies of what is likely a gang of no-goodniks (a couple of whom are unconscious but still smiling).

2 'Thanks For The Pants' 'Thanks For The Pants'
Published by Forbidden Fruit
Contributors: Vic Martin (writer and artist)
Copyright: 1990

Published in The Sexy Superspy #2, Dec. 1990."Who's snatching the sexy secretaries of B.U.S.T.?" Puntella Primm goes after what looks like an oriental bad guy and de-pants him using her ray-gun.

3 'Saving The Jewels' 'Saving The Jewels'

Published in The Sexy Superspy #3, Jan. 1991.
"Sexy Superspy must save American's jewels".  What appears to be a foreign dictator and likely his pet crocodile getting blown up by a victorious Puntella Primm.

5 'Mars Calling!' 'Mars Calling!'

Published in The Sexy Superspy #5, Mar. 1991.
"Nudist Martians Invade the Earth! - courtesy of the Mars Air Force. The 'visitors' come to Earth in their individualized saucers and give chase to naked Earthling women. This obviously annoys Puntella Primm.

6 'Orgy Gas' 'Orgy Gas'

Published in The Sexy Superspy #6, Apr. 1991.
"Is there no defense against - Orgy Gas?" That sounds very bad and quite dangerous, not to mention possibly foul smelling, but the big mystery to me is why Puntella Primm looks like she is arriving at the scene by being popped out of a hot oversized toaster!

7 'Pollution is Bad!' 'Pollution is Bad!'

Published in The Sexy Superspy #7, Dec. 1991.
Puntella Primm finds herself "trapped in the Deadly Pollution Machine" and going up against what is certainly a Russian complete with a ushanka hat.

MY COMMENTS

What would I spend to be able to read one or more of these comics? Well, apparently not much - certainly not as much as these undoubtedly limited-run comicbooks are currently going for. Plus I do not want to imagine the look on my wonderful wife's face when it arrived in the mail.

These comics were part of a wide set of  erotic adventures by a company that looked like it was just having fun. Well, as far as Puntella Primm goes, for sure. There were a couple of horror mags that looked a bit daunting.

Having read what I did of them, I felt sorry for whoever was involved in publishing them,
