ABOUT THE SERIES

Superseven is an agent with T.H.E.M.

Exactly who T.H.E.M. is never explained except for the very strong implication that that organization is working hard on the side of the good guys.

Who are the bad guys that T.H.E.M. is always fighting? The answer is T.H.E.Y., a group of really not nice people out to control the world.

Leading the agents working for T.H.E.M. is Superseven, which is the covername (of course) for the costumed operative who is ever ready to go up against the shenanigans of the other side.

Who is Superseven when he is not in his costume fighting T.H.E.Y.? We are never told. Why does this operative feel it necessary to go about his job wearing a costume in the first place? Yet another mystery that is never explained to the viewers of his adventures.

In a televised interview for "50/50", we learn that Superseven is a "super-spy, detective, inventor, wrestling champion, martial arts master, recording star, Nobel Prize winning physicist, motion picture star, and much much more. Loved by millions. And feared and hated by his enemies, the enemies of freedom and justice".

Dressed normally in a full-body red spandex outfit which covers him from toes to his entire head (less his face), Superseven's outfit includes a black set of trunks and a wide black belt with a huge buckle. High black boots, black elbow-length gloves, and a black mask over the top of his face complete his ensemble.

'Seven', he explains to an interviewer, is what his friends call him "and the ladies just call [him] Super". He comes from a long line of crimefighters, including his mother and father. He has 6 university degrees, speaks 14 languages fluently, has 3 platinum records, and a best-selling book of poetry. He is an undefeated wrestling and mixed-martial-arts champion. He is single and admits that crimefighting takes up most of his time.

Aiding him in all his exciting escapades is Sandra West, a beautiful former T.H.E.M. agent who not only joins him in his fight but also has her own adventures.

In a series of campy and fun, wonderfully short episodes, the adventures of the costumed crime-fighter and undercover operative (in a costume?) named Superseven were released as webisodes to be viewed online,

I called them "wonderfully short" because they were long enough to get a story out of them but not so long that the viewer spent as much time glancing at the clock on the wall as watching the action on the screen.

Keen eyes will notice that in the listing of season episodes, there are none from Season 2. This is because there was no Season 2. Why there was no Season 2 is apparently a secret known only by T.H.E.M.

MY COMMENTS

If you have 5 to 15 minutes here and there to spend watching something that is, well, good and bad at the same time, this is a fun way to use the time. I do not think I could sit through one of the complete movies they made up of the parts of the webisodes but who knows?

This is meant to be an over-the-top absolutely campy homage to the spies and crimefighting programs and movies of the 60s and it does that nicely.

It also shows the stunt abilities of its various stars and numerous extras. It displays a lot of pretty impressive falls, leaps, spins, hurdles, fights, and deaths and it worth the time just for them.

Plus the actor playing Superseven has a deep-voiced demeanor that is a lot of fun to watch.

And Sandra West is never, ever, hard to follow.
