Sol Weistein was born in Trenton, New Jersey. He worked as a reporter on a newspaper in the 1950 but then changed careers to write comedy in the 60's. In that mode he wrote for Joe E. Lewis and Bob Hope as well as writing for television stars such as Dean Martin. After his wife of many years passed away, he moved to Australia to live with his son. He died in New Zealand.

A terrific auto-obituary is available on his website and clearly shows the great sense of humor the author possessed.
