According to the bio on her webpage: "I was born and raised in Brighton Park, a neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois. For three years, I was a member of the Illinois State Junior High Power Rifle Team, competed at the NRA National Rifle Championships, and won multiple awards and qualified as an Expert marksman. In addition to reading and shooting, another love of mine is dancing. I spent nine years learning various forms of dance under Kathleen Katsoudas, former student of Ruth Page and owner of Kathleen’s Dance Asylum. Afterwards, I spent a year studying Russian ballet under a former Bolshoi Ballet master teacher. In 2004, I graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Biology and a commission in the active duty Air Force. In 2006, I deployed for six months to the war-torn Baghdad, Iraq. After I separated from the military in 2008, I graduated from the University of West Florida with an M.B.A and then went on to achieve my B.S. in Nursing. I’m currently an inpatient medical-surgical RN, living in Texas, happily married, and I have two wonderful boys and a Beagle."
