First published as Don't Shoot The Mayor in The American Magazine (Aug. 1936) then in 3 issues of The Saint Detective Magazine (AUS - Nov. 1955, US - Dec. 1955 & UK - Jan. 1956) with the current title. Also published in the collections The Happy Highwayman and The Saint Two In One.
A police commissioner in a small US city has committed suicide and the Saint decides to get the man who drove him to it.
