Ben Hope is wandering around Ireland, lost and aimless, when he sees a young woman, a journalist named Kirsten Hall, murdered in front of him. Hope is determined to bring her killer to justice which means he will have to look into what she was working on; studying the journals of an English lord in Ireland during the Irish Great Famine.
