The disappearance of a Russian cargo ship in the Bering Strait is the reason Sam Reilly is asked to the area in the hopes he can find the ship and rescue the crew. What Reilly will learn is that the ship's problem was connected to an incident during the tunnel building operation between Russia and Alaska in which a huge burrowing machine went missing.
