Mr. Pilgrim assists two Russian scientists, ostensibly en route a conference in Germany, to escape from behind the Iron Curtain, causing a major uproar as a result. At least on the surface as Mr. Pilgrim has yet another mission in mind, getting revenge on a Nazi war criminal that personally plagued Pilgrim.
