Dirk Lasher is an agent with the DIA.
Well, for a while. Then, quite a bit different.
In the first recorded adventure as we meet him initially, he is not yet with that military intelligence department. He is actually in the US Army where he has served for a fair number of years, eventually deciding to leave the enlisted ranks and move towards becoming an officer via the Warrant program. He had reached the fourth rung of that process before situations change and a career move seems in his best interest.
The change is to the Defense Intelligence Agency where, strangely, he is 'welcomed' by a high-up member of the secretive organization and put under that woman's personal handling. It is considered an odd occurrence because of something that happened in the first adventure which precipitated his job change.
And it will be a major event in the second adventure that will see him parting ways with the DIA, for a time, and find him dealing first-hand with the ultra-unique Kimberly Sharp. The adjectives available for use with this genius woman seem nearly endless and include genius and innovative on the positive side, challenging and interesting on the more neutral position, and bat-s**t crazy on the negative end of the spectrum.
All the actions in these adventures take place during the late 80s in and around the Central American country of Panama and its extremely important Canal. The dictator Noriega, once a close ally of the United States before attitudes on both sides change and he would end up a 'guest' of the American prison system.
