Jessica Malone is an agent with the Canadian JTF3.
That unusual acronym stands for the Joint Task Force 3. To understand that designation, it is important to know about JTF2, "formed in 1993 as an elite special operations force of the Canadian Armed Forces. Primarily tasked with counter-terrorism missions, the organization also specialized in direct action, hostage rescue, personnel recovery, and foreign internal defense."
Having gotten closer, we learn "After 9/ 11, a sub-branch was created to provide intelligence support in the collection and analysis of information relating to national and foreign security. This group received the designation of JTF3, but few in government even knew of its existence. Its motto was et ad explorandum quaerere, or 'to search and explore'".
Malone is, when we first meet up with her, 27 years old. She is described as being 5'9" tall with a slim body of only 128 lbs and still not pleased with her body, though what she is unhappy with is not specified. She is further said to have "long, wavy, bright copper hair, a large chin, and a wide smile of sensual lips that begged to be kissed. With perfect bone structure, she preferred a natural look and wore only minimal makeup".
A very useful description of Malone's talents comes from her latest performance review given by the JTF3 Director Sajjan saying, "Streetwise, independent, self-driven and resourceful. Always one step ahead. Excels at blending in and not drawing attention. Logical. Willing to take risks, make decisions and stick by them." From that opinion, it is easy to see why he went to her for the tough assignments.
Helping her out on each of the recorded adventures we follow Malone on is Perry Techmeier, a man slightly younger than Malone who "possessed a cunning brain and an impressive technical proficiency in cyber reconnaissance" and "no social skills". Malone is one of the few who has gotten close to this reclusive man whose tech skills are impressive. [I really liked Techmeier. In some ways he is a stereotypical computer nerd and in many ways he is not but he is always unique.]
