Travis Delta is an agent with Snakeriver.
According to a public relations blurb we are given for the first few adventures of Delta on behalf of that organization, "Black-ops company Snakeriver tackles jobs the U.S. government isn't permitted to handle on its own, and former Navy SEAL Travis Delta is the best of the best when it comes to eliminating threats to democracy." These assignments that Snakeriver takes are extremely hush-hush as it is known by all who make use of this company's expertise that careers would be lost and prison sentences likely should word about these contracts get out.
As stated, Delta is the best operative that Snakeriver has and since it is widely agreed by those who know that Snakeriver is the best company active in this line of work. "Years of battlefield experience have taught him that a skillfully placed hollow-point bullet often accomplishes what normal diplomatic channels cannot, and he has no problem squeezing the trigger when words fail." Add to that, Delta is "a man who believes that a bullet to the head is generally the optimal method of dealing with the country's enemies". Of course, since all this is without legal due process, clandestine is the operative word.
An interesting line given us in the first adventure says that, "Travis Delta never took unnecessary chances, even in Heaven." The Heaven in this case is a chunk of land in Alaska, really far north in that state, 25 miles north of the Arctic Circle in the Kobuk Valley National Park just west of the Gates of the Arctic. He's owned his 500 hundred acres there for a decade and a half since his parents died in a plane crash when he was 18. Owning that property did not stop him from spending time to earn a college degree and then serve his country as a Navy SEAL in Iraq and Syria, but it was a great place to return to whenever he could. He left only when he received a new mission from Snakeriver.
Delta stands 6'2, weighs 180lbs and the amount of body fat is not really worth mentioning. In addition to his impressive strength earned keeping Nature at bay on his property when not on assignment, he is a sixth degree black belt (unknown art).
Good Lines:
- Delta had learned "the usefulness of killing as many bad guys as possible in the least amount of time".
