Colt Bancroft is a pilot for the U.S. Navy.
He is part of the elite group of pilots able to call themselves Top Gun. In the case of Lieutenant Bancroft, we first meet him as he is behind the controls of a F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, a flyer who is said to be "one of the most experienced JSF pilots in the Navy".
Normally, Bancroft would have expected his life to continue on track as a pilot in the military but forces outside his normal operating sphere will cause that career to take a major shift. He will continue to be an aviator and his skills there will continue to save a lot of lives, including his own, but he will also find himself deeply involved in espionage work, both as a counter-agent trying to stop foreign operatives and as an ad hoc field agent himself.
Bancroft will find his 'second' job aided by NCIS Special Agent Emmy "Punky" King. A dedicated - a few of her colleagues might think too zealous - investigator, she has proven herself extremely good at tracking down enemy agents working inside of or connected to the U.S. Navy; some of those agents being American traitors.
These adventures are a combination of ground action involving SEAL members, thrilling aerial operations by Bancroft, and counter-intelligence procedural work by King. I am especially partial to every time that King is on hand.
