Kate Barrett is an agent with Viribus.

She will be, at least, soon after we meet her but becoming an operative with this independent group of counter-terrorist fighters - branded vigilantes by a lot who do not approve of their tactics or perhaps they are just embarrassed that Viribus is successful.

When we first are introduced to her she is a nurse, quite a different profession from what she will become.
