Chuck McCain is an agent with the CIA.
That occupation comes with a quite impressive pathway, starting with being a beat cop on the streets of Atlanta, moving to the highly specialized and dangerous SWAT program in that metropolis, serving with the Special Forces in Afghanistan, and then becoming part of a new enforcement division of the Centers for Disease Control..
Along the way McCain will lead a small but effective team of operatives as they battle an Iranian-based bio-weapon attack team of terrorists who will unleash on America a horrific virus creating a devastating zombie apocalypse!
When we meet him, he had just returned from two tours in Afghanistan but before that he had served "twenty years as a police officer just outside of Atlanta. He had loved his job. Where else could you get paid to drive fast, shoot guns, and lock up bad guys?" He was very good at his job and relished the excitement and the danger but with his successes eventually came promotion and when after a decade with SWAT he made lieutenant, that took him out of the field and into an office and he hated that. It was not long before he put in his papers to retire and looked elsewhere.
That would see him changing his theatre of operations as he took a new position as a police liaison "for an Army Special Forces A Team in Afghanistan". Two year-long tours with them passed in which he trained extensively with them to absorb as much of their tactics as he could, which would turn out to be a lot.
It was after he had come back to the States to try and renew his tattered relationship with his grown daughter, 21-year-old college student Melanie, that he is approached by a woman recently put in charge of a new CDC Enforcement Agency, empowered by Presidential order to be ready to combat the ever growing danger of biological terrorism. That job will bring him eventually into the fold of the CIA.
McCain is in his mid-forties, flecks of gray just starting to show in his dark hair. He was a muscular six-feet two inches tall, weighing in at around two-hundred and twenty-five pounds. He works diligently to keep himself in the best shape he can because he knows his survival demands it.
