Agent Gambit, now known as Spynosaur, is an agent with Department 6.
Okay, there is some major league explaining needed here. Let's start with Department 6. It is a (we think) Canadian spy organization led by Agent M11, former known as A12, a pretty gruff old fellow who apparently did not have much use for Agent Gambit back before he became, well, something else and now that Gambit is that something else, well, the always annoyed Director is even more always annoyed. Okay, that is not much but that is what we know.
Now, on to the Spynosaur part. The intro to the first recorded adventure we have tells us: "When top spy-entists [their words, not mine!] put the mind of super-spy Agent Gambit inside the body of a dinosaur, they created the first ever Super Secret Agent Dinosaur. Together with his daughter, Amber, this prehistoric hero protects the world from villainy. His codename: Spynosaur."
We are even given a cute little ditty: "When criminals conspire and the world is on the brink, this dino-mighty hero doesn't mind that he's extinct".
Well, maybe that just made things more complicated.
How about this? Agent Gambit was a man who gets his brain zapped into a dinosaur that is brought back to life and ... nope, that is not working either.
Let's try this. Agent Gambit is now a anthropomorphized dinosaur who still wants to save the world now and then from bad guys and has the help of his pre-teen daughter, Amber, to do it even though Amber's mom does not know about all this world-saving and 'hey, did you know Dad's a dinosaur?' stuff. Best I could do! Apparently as far as Mom is concerned, Dad was a traveling peanut butter salesman who died in an accident so now it is just her and Amber. Except Amber is a super-spy-in-training who knows that Dad is still alive, albeit now in the body of a resurrected dinosaur who still loves to fight bad guys around the world.
When we meet Spynosaur, he is described as a "scaly, green Deinonychus measured a full nine feet from head to tail, with huge claws on his hands and feet, a long, broad head and a wide mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth. He wore a sleek spy-suit, with a silver pistol tucked into a shoulder holster." Definitely not your typical dinosaur! Or your typical super-spy.
