Abraham Snow is an agent with Snow Security Consulting.
We are told in the blurbs at the beginning of many of his adventures that "Abraham Snow's career ended with a single shot. That's when his life began".
That career had been with a government intelligence agency working largely undercover in far off lands. Which agency that was remains, for me at least, a mystery but he had been with it for some time. Most of that time when he traveled under the name of James Shepperd; that name became so much a part of him it felt like his.
Then a mission went sideways and Snow was shot twice in the chest, nearly killing him. "Most days it's fine. Sometimes I even forget that they had to pull two slugs out of me. Other days, it hurts like hell so I won't forget." After those bullets ended his covert career and nearly his life, Abraham Snow returned to home in Atlanta to recover. There he found work with his family's security business, work that is more dangerous than his previous job.
Snow Security Consulting is a private company founded and still run by his grandfather, Archer Snow, with his father, Dominic, a part of it. Abraham Snow had wanted to make his own way in life and not just take what was offered to him by his elders and he had more than proven he had done just that. Now he makes his home in Atlanta, Georgia, and has rejoined the family business.
Snow, with his "wild mane of hair" (not so wild, just perpetually uncombed), has a small cadre of interesting friends and associates, called "Team Snow" by the author, which play a major role in his life and take part in some or many of his new assignments:
Samson Brooks - was Snow's former partner back when he was in the field and is now a private investigator.
Big John Salmon - a tall black man who could fix any vehicle and was even better at driving them, not to mention boosting them. Fencing them, though, was a problem and that got him some time in prison. Since then he has made it a point to stay on the straight and narrow, except for occasionally helping Abraham Snow. He was for a time Snow's handler (he calls it babysitter) in his previous work.
Tom McClellan is a childhood friend who had surprised everyone who thought he would take up a life of crime but instead joined the FBI to work the other side of the street.
