First Look:
'Red' Steele is an agent with the Australian Secret Service.
That is about all I know so far and most of that statement is pure conjecture.
I know from the covers to the adventures that I have learned of this operative that he is a "secret agent" and that his last name is Steele and he goes by the nickname of 'Red'. The rest is guesswork.
The stories were told solely in an Australian publication, created, written, and drawn by an Australian legend in graphic adventures back in the 40's. That is the rationale for saying he works for that country's Secret Service. No other reason.
Oh, from the images, the 'Red' is likely because of his wavy red hair.
If anyone else has any information, I'd love to hear it.
