S. J. SLAGLE

According to the bio on her website: "I'm SJ Slagle and after a career as an English and Language Arts teacher in high school and college, I began to write children's books. These darling books were based on my sisters and I growing up and are the Floyd Sisters Mysteries.

But I love romance! I got busy and wrote 19 western romances set in the Wild West. I live in Nevada so cowboys and ranching feature strongly in my stories of love, second chances and redemption. 

I have always loved the work of Sue Grafton and Tony Hillerman so I began my own mystery series called Sherlock and Me about a sleuth named Lucy James who lives and works in Reno. Her supporting characters are funny and problematic.

I also write historical fiction. My series of books about a young woman in military intelligence in WWII is loosely based on the exploits of an accomplished cousin, one of the first women in the CIA. London Spies has won an award for excellence in historical fiction."
