According to the bio on Amazon: "Simon Hartwell was born in Huntingdon, England, in 1965.

An avid reader, Simon's writing career started late in life. After leaving the hurly-burly of the financial sector in the fall of 2013. He started writing novels early the following year, publishing his first novel in January 2015. Simon found writing an exhilarating adventure as his story came to life on the page, the characters living breathing entities who would surprise him as they developed and he would often fire up his computer in the middle of the night to write chapter after chapter just to keep up with his thoughts.

Since that first novel, “Quentin James and the Undercover Agent,” Simon Hartwell has published more novels before turning his hand to screenwriting."
