According to a bio on his publisher's website: "The author is a retired detective chief inspector and former head of Brighton CID. He was the senior investigating officer on many murder investigations. He operated in the UK and Ireland with the Counter Terrorism Command. He was recruited into the Security Service (MI5) Counter Espionage Department, working in the UK and USA with the FBI. As a young detective inspector, he was involved in the interrogation of Argentine Commander Alfredo Astiz during the Falklands War. He has a BA degree in history and politics and is a keen photographer. He also owns and manages a woodland in West Sussex and is an enthusiastic motorcyclist."
