SHELDON STARK

According to his obituary in Variety: "Sheldon H. Stark, a veteran writer who worked in radio and TV, died Feb. 6 of natural causes at UCLA Medical Center. Stark began his career as a writer of radio serials and later for syndicated cartoons.

During the 1950s he wrote for television, including the live drama “Studio One,” as well as such series as “Hawaiian Eye,” “Ben Casey,” “Wagon Train,” “Checkmate,” “Batman,” “Green Hornet,” “Rawhide,” “Quincy,” “Border Patrol,” “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” and “The Waltons.”

Stark, who was blacklisted in the early 1950s, wrote the Off Broadway play “Time of Storm,” which explored the dangers of McCarthyism.

He also taught screenwriting at UCLA, Santa Monica City College and the Writers Guild of America.
