Frederick Annesley Michael Webster was a British Army captain who wrote a good number of novels in a variety of genres: adventure, science fiction, and espionage. An athlete deep involved with British and Olympic activities, including reporting on events at the London games in 1908. During WWI he was involved with British military intelligence which would prompt his writing the spy fiction some time later.
