ALLEN ULMER

Allen Ulmer was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in there before heading to the Art Students League in New York. He got his professional start working in magazine illustrating. During the 40's he earned a living drawing comics including many famous characters like the Saint, the Shadow, Tarzan, and the Green Hornet.

As he grew older, his work took him into mainstream paintings, especially in oils where he became quite well known.
