Brian Grant is in the Lake District recovering from injuries suffered during when he and his teenage nephew hear an altercation down the road. They arrive in time to see two men bundle an unconscious man into a car and speed off. Grant will soon discover the victim was a foreign nuclear weapon expert who had recently defected to the UK.
