Death in Slow Motion

An old friend of Modesty, Inspector Brook, and his daughter are reported lost in a sailing accident but they have in fact been kidnapped by the widow of a crime lord he had put away some time back. They are taken to the Sahara where they will die by slow torture unless Modesty can learn what happened and save them.
