Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin are transiting the Inca Trail on mule, each from the opposite end, as a fun contest. As both enter a small South American country just taken over in a coup, Blaise stops some soldiers from an atrocity while Garvin is arrested for spying. Neither of them like the situation so they do something about it.
