Myra North and Jack Lane decide to drop in to visit a famous New York sculptor named Jeffrey Garland, an old friend of Lane, at his lofty penthouse apartment. The man's valet tells of Garland's sad death three weeks before under mysterious circumstances. Garland had died during a dinner party he was holding to show off his unfinished sculpture of a beautiful nude woman. Later, the valet notices later that missing was his appointment book.
