Wanting very much a simple, action-free nursing assignment, Myra North likes the advert that Jack Lane found for her in the newspaper. It is to be the companion and nurse for an elderly Lady Ainsley in a quite mansion in the country. Shortly after getting the job, North finds Bruno, a brutish man ordered to be her bodyguard in the previous adventure, had followed her because "nobody has told me to stop". He gets a job as a butler. Lady Ainsley is a bit of a clairvoyant and senses trouble is coming, and it is in the form of ne'er-do-well nephew Andrew.
