Bond is the weapon chosen to strike back at SMERSH for the death of too many agents. The target is the French communist named le Chiffre, a conduit for payments made around Europe. The weapon is chemin de fer, a more exciting version of Baccarat, where Bond tries to bankrupt the French agent. Even better, there is a torture scene that will make any male squirm.
