The leader of an upstart criminal organization, which had come into strength only after The Network had disbanded, was lead by the fierce fighter known as El Mico. Tales of his deadly and merciless attacks on opponents had made him feared throughout the western Mediterranean area. When a dying man begged Modesty and Willie to 'save the talisman', they soon found that fulfilling that request would take them to the desert of Morocco to fight the forces of El Mico. It would also force Modesty to remember a part of her past long buried.
