In what is billed as the finale to the Maggie Hope saga, she is directed to assassinate a German physicist "who may deliver a world-ending fission bomb" to the Nazis. Hope has never had such an assignment before and she does not like it. She will also find she needs to work with Coco Chanel, "a spy in her own right with ambiguous loyalties".
