A small homemade boat is found by Jesse McDermitt drifting under the Seven Mile Bridge. Onboard is a boy, unconscious and thought initially to be a Cuban refugee. However, when he awakens, he speaks perfect English. Unfortunately, he has no memory of who he is. Evidence starts to point to his coming from Fort Myers, Jesse's old hometown and one place he has no desire to go back to.
