ABOUT THE SERIES

Peter Trees is a bodyguard.

A former Air Force colonel, Trees is a man who craves adventure. He firmly believes he couldn't live without it. Luckily for him, there is no lack of it. Everywhere he goes, Trees finds people who want to go up against him.

Trees is an incredibly decorated war hero, having been awarded virtually every medal the country has to offer, include the Medal of Honor. Now retired from the military, he is the personal pilot, and some argue bodyguard for Michael Archangeli. The latter is one of the ten richest men in the world with enterprises all over the planet. In truth Trees was far more to Archangeli as he was slowly but surely becoming a vital part of the management, turning into a man whose opinion Archangeli had learned was too good to ignore. To get to and fro, Trees and Archangeli opt for a Crusader fighter jet instead of more traditional air transportation, the books taking place long before the Lear Jet and others like it took hold.

In addition to all this, Trees is known throughout government circles as a person who gets things done. One of these people is the President. When Trees is not piloting and protecting the billionaire, and sometimes even when he is, Trees is also on call to the Program Commission, an ultra-secret group dedicated to keeping the free world safe. It was created at the command of the President of the U.S. And works clandestinely where other agencies would be noticed. One of the operatives for this small but powerful group is Trees, a man asked to help personally by the President.

MY COMMENTS

Trees is a character far above the norm. Larger-than-life as the expression goes (although I've never quite understood that). But the writing of this three-book series is just darn good. The action is fast and little is wasted in description. But the stories are good and it is a fun series to read.

The character is a bit too good, I will grant, but on these adventures, you want him to be. It is a lot more fun the way Mr. Quirk wrote it.

I also loved the way the author posed on the back cover of the first book, dressed like the character is drawn on the front. That had to be fun for the author.

I've got to agree with the above comments Peter trees is one hell of a guy, suave, sophisticated....sexy in a rugged kind of way, not withstanding a brilliant sense of humour. I'd die to be in his shoes!!! Peter Trees, Darlington, England November, 2014
