Guy Bodie is a thief.
That hardly does him justice, to be honest, something Bodie often is despite his vocation. He is an expert thief. And an expert smuggler. And a pretty fair hand at finding lost, valuable relics and transporting them from where they are to where someone with money wants them to be. That last part probably makes him sound like one of the bad guys but Bodie takes a different approach; he steals "relics from people who can afford to love them". He heads a small group of like-thinking individuals, a group unofficially known as the Relic Hunters.
None of this would normally get Bodie or his people an entry into this compendium of cloak-and-dagger operatives. What will pull into this collection and give his membership credibility is the fact that his little operation will, in the first recorded adventure we have of Bodie and company, fall into the control of Heidi Moneymaker, a woman "with curly blond hair and an attractive and wise, lived-in face that offered up a worldly expression." She has use of someone like Bodie and people like his team and is not hesitant in the least to "request" it on more than one occasion.
We first meet Bodie when he is in prison in Mexico. It was an odd prison, to be sure, complete with market stalls and families and even hookers if the urge called, but a prison just the same with barbed wire and gates and guards with guns. Bodie has been in for nearly two weeks since a former colleague betrayed him and a little job he was on went belly-up. His few days of captivity with several instances of small groups dropping by to kill him give a great introduction to just how resilient he can be. Bodie is a friendly enough guy with a dazzling smile with exceptionally bright, white teeth, willing to banter with you for as long as you want but willing then to return pain with even more of it.
Other members of the team are:!!Cassidy Coleman, a former B-action movie actress turned professional boxer, she is a beautiful woman with the "lithe, bronzed body" and an impatient nature shown by a tendency to abhor waiting and just wanting someone to f**k up.
Eli Cross - career thief with "a wealth of experience and the nounce to get out of almost any scrape". He was Bodie's oldest friend.
Sam Gunn - a tech genius, quite handy with security systems, the youngest and least forthcoming member of the team.
Jemma Blunt - a top-notch cat burglar-cum-outstanding mission-planner.
