ABOUT THE SERIES

Lana Daganof is an agent with an unnamed intelligence agency.

Some have speculated that the reason this agency is unnamed is either it has none or, more probable, people have forgotten it. The people running the show at this organization would be better served not doing so because mix-ups happen all the time. Not some times. Not often. Always.

And poor Lana is usually the one getting the raw end of the deal because for all her flaws, she is a highly skilled and dedicated operative who is willing to give it her all (literally and figuratively) time after time and it might be nice if once in a while the mission handed her was thought out better, if at all.

Lana (her last name was used in an online article I read - I never found it myself) has been an agent for some time considering though we do not know exactly how long. We also get no idea of how she came to be an operative or why or what she does when she is not on assignment. We know virtually nothing about her past and how she got as talented as she is.

What we do know is she is a terrific fighter able to kick butt in numerous languages, she has a sense of the ridiculous (good to have considering the messes she gets thrown into) and she has an awesome demonic glare that can wilt any man (that's just figuratively although I would not chance it).

And we know that this extremely sexy, very buxom agent is prone (pun) to losing her apparel at the drop of, well, most anything. Sometimes she is the unfortunate victim of events and sometimes (okay, most times) she is a willing participant. Whichever the case, she is in the altogether more than she is clad and when she is found actually clad, it is always something highly revealing and enticing.

Lana likes sex. A lot. Male or female, it does not matter. She is open to all sorts of offers and will do her best to leave her partner happy.

Or beaten to a pulp if things get out of hand. A master at martial arts and acrobatics, Lana is able to fight with her hands and feet with incredible results. And more often than not, she seems to be in the nude when she does it.

This series got its start as an online webcomic back in October, 2008 and gets updated with a new page each Monday. Much like newspaper comic strips, the series consists of numerous story arcs of usually 20-30 pages each, some shorter and some longer.

Over time each of these arcs have been collated into a comicbook for release on normal online comic sites and some of these have been bundled into omnibus form. Additionally, extra stories have been made available in these comicbooks/bundles which were not originally presented in the each-Monday slot.

There are also a couple of stand-alone adventures with Lana being paired with other comicbook characters.

MY COMMENTS

At some point in my quickly advancing years, I expect I may grow up. You know, mature. Stop being so puerile in what gets me grinning and going back for more. Honest, it may happen.

Not today, of course. Today I spend a lot of time reading wonderfully bad stories like Spying with Lana and enjoying it way too much.

My pleasure in this series is not reflected in the grade I give it because as spy stories go, this does not rate a high mark. But as light-hearted, soft-core entertainment goes, I am back to being a young teenager giggling as I read the next adventure.
