According to the short bio on Amazon: "Richard Powell grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. Attended the great Iowa Public Schools and Graduated from Drake University with a Masters Degree in Psychology. He later received a Ph.D. from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. (Contrary to rumor Ohio is really the Bobcat State) After a number of years as a practicing Psychologist, he now writes full time. For fun, he raced sports cars, sled dogs, and sailboats. Giving up the Hemingway lifestyle his hobbies now include photography, raising children and annoying his loving wife. He lives with these fine people in Germantown, Tennessee."
