First published in The American Magazine (Jan. 1934) and illustrated by Samual N. Abbott, then The Strand Magazine (Apr. 1934) and illustrated by Albert Bailey and in Suspense (UK - Sep. 1958). Also published in the anthology Best Crime Stories (1934).
While he is in Paris, Simon Templar reads in a newspaper about his misdeeds and decides to leave false clues for Scotland Yard who are after him.
