First published as The Very Green Goods Man in the Empire News (Nov. 21, 1932), then in 2 issues of Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine (US - Aug. 1946 & AUS - Dec. 1947), 2 issues of MacKill's Mystery Magazine (UK - Apr. 1953 & US - May 1953), and Ellery Queen's 1963 Anthology with the current title, plus as The Saint and the Green Goods Man in 2 issues of The Saint Mystery Magazine (US - Nov. 1959 & UK - Jan. 1960). Also published in the collections The Brighter Buccaneer and The Saint Cleans Up.
A counterfeit con game has a new twist but that just makes the Saint more interested.
