With Myra North recovered from the plague she had been given in the previous adventure, she and Jack Lane consider leaving the whole 'dangerous adventure' business. Unfortunately, the danger from Ling Sin is apparent with learning about the mysterious hidden land north of Greenland and the civilization there that is so very much more advanced than ours. This shows up with it is learned that Lane is somehow 'touched' by the memory of Sin so the fight must be taken to her. Even worse the threat that she will use the advanced technology to conquer the rest of the planet.
