The year is 1919. James 'Max' Maxted is playing a very deadly game as a double agent working 'for' German spy Fritz Lemmer. He is sent to the Orkney Islands to collect a package but finds hiding his true intentions is very difficult. Back in Paris his partner, Sam, is being stalked by the Japanese delegation anxious to use him to kill Lemmer.
