It is Spring, 1971. Vera Kelly joins her girlfriend, Max, on a trip to LA to visit Max's estranged family and deal with the apparent messy divorce Max's parents are having. In addition to the expected problems there is a matter of the occultist, St. James, who is charming and also likely a thief. When Max goes missing, Vera must put her detective skills to use in a search that will put her to a major life test.
