The year is early 1934. Several months earlier, British Intelligence faked her execution for treason and now she is being forced to work for her old nemesis, Jeffrey Willcox. When it is learned that a British embassy official has disappeared in the Balkans, Marion Bailey is sent to that region to track him down as well.
