MAX PHILLIPS

-

Writing as: Forrest DeVoe, Jr., Max Phillips

An uncommon combination of poet and hard-boiled writer, Max Phillips, who currently resides in New York City, has had his short stories and his poetry published in and reviewed by several magazines and newsprint including the Atlantic Monthly, Esquire, The New Yorker, the New York Times, and more. He is also one of the cofounders of the pulp fiction imprint Hard Case Crime which has returned the fun and excitement that was the hard-boiled detective stories of the like of Hammett and Chandler. Some of these books are treasures long lost and others are new creations.
