According to the bio on Amazon: "Raised in the mountains of the Northwest, George Zell Heuston obtained an undergraduate degree in History at the University of Puget Sound, and a Juris Doctor's degree at Seattle University. He served in the Vietnam War as an Air Combat, and Air Targeting Intelligence officer with the USAF's 8th Air Force.

Heuston went on to serve 22 years as a Special Agent in the FBI, where he specialized in computer crime and forensics, and foreign counterintelligence in Silicon Valley. After retiring from the Bureau, Heuston worked as a Project Manager for the Hillsboro Police Department, Oregon. He retired from HPD in 2010. Heuston additionally was a columnist for 10 years at the Hillsboro Argus newspaper, and OregonLive online.

George Heuston spent his formative years climbing in the Northwest with his father and colleagues. During his undergraduate college years in the mid-1960s, Heuston worked as a summit guide for the Mt. Rainier Guide Service."
