Shirl Henke was born and raised in Missouri and attended university there, planning on becoming a journalist but then, after earning a Masters in History and working a variety of jobs, she became a teacher. She did this for around 15 years before she got her first book published and soon took up writing full time. She specializes in contemporary and historical romances.
